This Summer, We Are All Sky Dancers At Dakini Festival
By Ema Barba
Sky dancers all over the world, gather between 27th June and the 1st of July 2018, at Tuzla Beach in Romania, for the second edition of Dakini Festival! Tuzla Beach is one of the most pristine beaches in Romania! Dakini Festival is an international event that brings together chill, psy-trance and micro-house music, over 100 DJs, dance, famous speakers and artists, workshops, as well as the largest yoga village and healing section in this area of Europe.
SF Yoga participated last year and we fell in love with the inclusive culture, the openness of the people and with the amazing variety of activities and workshops. Not to mention it’s kid friendly and pet friendly! This festival helps us remember that we’re all a big family, we’re in deep connection with nature and there is an abundance of beauty to be found in the world. The experience, the vibe, the sessions, as well as the music were uplifting. Personally, it’s hard to forget the Istvan Sky concert!
This summer, on the Romanian coastline, we’ll celebrate freedom, diversity, tolerance, connection, magic, elevation, and harmony. This festival will be bliss if you are looking to experience elevation through music, as well as meet internationally-recognised yoga instructors, participate in art and healing workshops, be mesmerised by fire gatherings and juggling, develop your instincts in playfight and practice your balance with surfing!
This year, we will dance and sing with the music of 120 international and romanian artists, including Prem Joshua & band. You can check out the full line-up, here.
When you take a break from all of the music and dancing (if you can, that is!), you will have a hard time choosing between all the Yoga workshops going on. You might feel charmed to learn how to develop a Sattvic lifestyle through Ayurveda. Do take notes, even if they’re only mental! While you catch your breath, don’t miss the chance to connect with internationally recognised masters. This year, we are thrilled to see Master Karma Tanpai Gyaltshen on the line up!
What I personally enjoyed the most while participating last year was community. There’s something beautiful about dancing and being surrounding by souls alike - almost like a group meditation. The music makes your judging mind shut down completely and expland. I remember some moments - as I was bringing myself back from time to time and taking a moment of presence, I looked up and saw others in a state of bliss and enjoyment. I realized then the beauty of what I was living.
