I am so grateful I had the chance to gather at an event like Wisdom 2.0, which explores how to live with greater presence, purpose and wisdom in the digital age. Wisdom 2.0’s annual conference brings together more than 3,000 people from over 30 countries.
The event was full of inspiring speakers, several breakout sessions, community conversations, community dinners and more. It has been one of my favorite events to attend over the last several years.
Here are some of the moments that left a lasting impact on me, plus three invitations for some personal (and professional) development programs that you can participate in now from home.
Wild, Healing Movement For Energetic Health
One of my favorite moments of the conference this year was the energetic, lively Wisdom 2.0 opening, led by Julianne Hough. She popped out on the main stage and invited the crowd to get up on their feet and to start moving their bodies through what she calls KINRGY. As we followed along with Julianne’s wild movements, I could feel the vibration of the entire room quickly rise.
KINRGY is what Julianne calls “expanded fitness” that invites deep healing forward. The movements are inspired by several modalities, including tai chi, qigong, energy work, strength training and cardio. Her movement classes, what she calls “energetic health,” help us release old “stuff,” such as old trapped emotions, from the body, which can help us heal more deeply. Through KINGRY, we learn how to move through our stuff, through our bodies.
When I looked around, as we all practiced with Julianne, I saw a room full of smiling faces and also some tears. I felt completely moved. “Remember when you were a child and could be completely wild and free?” she asked us. And that’s what the movement that she led us through felt like -- it was like we were given permission for our inner children to let go and be wild and free; to get out of our heads and back into our hearts.
“Welcome home to your own skin,” she said.
Julianne went on to share a bit about her story and how KINGRY came to be. After becoming both a successful singer and actress at a young age, she found herself on a self discovery journey at the age of 25. She spent time exploring the depths of herself and learning about the places she still needed to heal. Through her passion and love for dance and movement, Julianne discovered how moving freely through the body can be such a healing form of self-expression. Taking her passion and putting it behind her purpose, KINGRY was born.
INVITATION #1: I would encourage all of you to check out a KINGRY class and observe in yourself how it affects your mental, emotional and physical state. Even though I had just a small taste of it, I was completely moved. You can sign up to try a KINGRY class on KINGRY.com. It will definitely bring some light and energy to your day.
The Inner MBA Hub
Tami Simon, founder of publishing and media company Sounds True, is one of my heroes. She is an incredible interviewer, asking the most thought-provoking questions, and always has a pulse on the latest trends in health and well-being. I love listening to her podcast and regularly read books that her publishing company releases.
At Wisdom 2.0, I was elated to be able to spend a lot of time listening to Tami’s wisdom in the Inner MBA Hub, a room dedicated to promoting a new nine-month immersion program that trains leaders, entrepreneurs, managers, and employees on how to powerfully grow themselves and their companies.
The Inner MBA Hub room at Wisdom 2.0 featured several speakers on these topics to preview the content of their upcoming program, including Tami’s business coach, Richard Taubinger, who spoke about conscious marketing. “Your marketing is your connection to your people,” he said. He recommended talking with energy about your vision and values often so that people can feel you. “Values allow people to know who you are at a much deeper level,” he said. “See that you have medicine (your talents and gifts), and you can deliver on that.”
Tami believes that businesses should be contributing to the uplifting of society and that is what The Inner MBA program is all about. “We don’t want to be one person at work and one person at home,” Tami said. We should be demanding congruency.”
INVITATION #2: If you feel called to use business as a force for good and are ready to grow personally and professionally, check out The Inner MBA. Learn more HERE.
